There has and is a lot of talking about us going on everywhere. We’ve serviced our first clients and our clientele base is growing steadily. We’ve started a foundation which hopefully lasts forever to ensure all the information of (your) tattoos and the tattoos get saved forever. It’s an exiting time for us. We hope you find all the information you need on this page.
If you are ready to preserve your tattoo, here are the forms you need to fill in.
Proud of your tattoo? Proud of the moment it represents? Proud of the pain, time and money you put in the making of it and proud of the artist that made it for you? They say tattoos last a lifetime and then some, now your tattoo can really be forever with our service to preserve your tattoo. We work together with a team of medical professionals that will turn your tattoo into a piece of artwork that will last forever.
Preserving your skin can be done for many reasons. Preserving the artwork, the story, the emotional value or preserving tattoos for your next-of-kin. We recognize the value of preserving tattooed skin for the art and history as also for the last wishes of the donors.
All creative ideas what to do with the skin, suggestions, questions are welcome. Please contact us for more information.
The foundation for the art and science of tattooing
In order to handle your tattoos in the most respectful way we founded The foundation for the art and science of tattooing and it is active since june 2014. Peter van der Helm & Judith van Bezu work hard to make this foundation a succes. The foundation was created because of the significance of preserving history, as well for the donors as for the next generation. Judith van Bezu has done a thesis research on preserving tattoos for museums which can be read here (in dutch).
Goals
Our main goals are to preserve tattooed skin after death. This tattooed skin can be used for exhibitions but can also be given to the relatives as a free-loan. Many people have requested to have their tattoos preserved. The main reasons for doing that are the emotional values of the tattoos, the interest in contributing to the history of tattooing, the preservation of the art piece or the artist work and to leave behind a piece of yourself to friends and family father death.
Vision
The foundation hopes to collect various pieces of tattooed work. With preserving the tattooed skin we will also preserve the story’s behind the tattoos. The donors can decide what they want with their tattoo and how they would like it to be preserved. The contact we have with the donors is very important to us, so that we can understand correctly what the last wishes are. If that’s clear, we will do our best to make these wishes possible.
Social inclusion
Not everyone is known with our service. Therefore we are open to answer all kinds of questions and participate on our discussion board on the website. Any creative ideas and suggestions are always welcome so that we can improve our service where needed.
